Job Description


Select Structural Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in our Cedar Rapids or Bettendorf office. Our primary services are focused on industrial, commercial, municipal and residential buildings.


We are a progressive, successful, fast-paced Engineering firm, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Position Requirements:

  • Structural analysis and design (wood, steel, concrete, and masonry buildings)

  • Design of steel reinforced

  • foundations, support structures, equipment foundations, beams and columns.

  • Strong working knowledge of AISC, ACI and Industrial Building Codes along with other national standards.

  • Solid knowledge of structural analysis programs used in the industry. Preferably RISA and Enercalc.

  • Mentoring of junior engineers and Revit drafters

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and capability to facilitate a teamwork environment

  • Strong verbal and written skills


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited program required. P.E. or S.E. preferred or the ability to be licensed in the next year.

  • A minimum of 1 year post college graduation experience required.
