Structural Engineer
Job Description
Select Structural is seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to join our Cedar Rapids team. We focus on providing safe and efficient designs using practical experience. We are a design firm serving Eastern Iowa and national clients. Our core customers are builders, contractors, developers, and architects for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects.

Position Requirements:

Interpersonal skills that promote a positive teamwork environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Independent self-starter with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Perform structural analysis and design using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry

Experience designing structures such as beams, columns, footings, foundations, and other structural systems

Produce drawings and details utilizing drafting software. Autodesk Revit preferred
-
Knowledge of structural analysis programs. RISA and Enercalc preferred
-
Experience and understanding of construction methods and materials

Familiarity with building codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, and NDS
Candidate Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited 4 year program is required with the ability to become licensed in the next 3 to 5 years

Have passed or ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam

A minimum of 1-year post-college graduation experience is required
Licensed P.E. or S.E. also encouraged to apply. Salary based on experience.
