The historic Smulekoff's building in downtown Cedar Rapids was originally constructed in 1901 as a wholesale grocer and later furniture warehouse.  In 2016, Select Structural provided structural engineering services to help renovate the historic structure into ground floor restaurant and event space with apartment units above along with indoor parking.  The repurposing of the building included new elevator and stair shafts, window openings on the exterior facade, floor system reinforcement, and parking ramp system.
